COLLABORATION | CO-DESIGN OF THE SGM FUND

Reflection & Refinement with SGM Members

In 2020, the Fund was launched as an emergency response to COVID-19. After a successful pilot that provided us with a launchpad and key learnings, this year was focused on reflection and refinement alongside experts from the global community.

The SGM Fund Working Group consisted of 13 SGM members from the USA, Guatemala, Morrocco, Chile, Spain, and Switzerland. It was comprised by previous recipients of the Food Solidarity Fund (the pilot), jury members, partners.

Diverse expertise in finance, social responsibility, sustainability, and hospitality contributed to the final outcome of a robust impact mechanism to be tapped into in order to support Social Gastronomy Organizations at a grassroots level.

Guided by a shared goal of promoting collaboration over competition, working together with the input of many stakeholders ensured that this process continues to be transparent, inclusive, and equitable.
