Social Gastronomy Movement

ANNUAL REPORT 2021

A Year in Review

“A movement isn’t a marketing tool. It is the antidote to ‘old habits die hard.’ It prepares the ground for new and different ways of thinking and acting. It creates cultural receptivity and popular support for new approaches. It makes it easier for a host of innovations with similar objectives to stick, to thrive, and to have lasting impact. “

"Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged by all the challenges facing our food systems but as much as there are many problems, best believe there are passionate people working day and night to come up with solutions.

-Nic Odhiambo, SGM Member, Co-Founder of Organic Life Organisation (Kenya)

Partners, Alliances & Supporters

In 2021, we were lucky to once again count on institutional support from the Cargill Foundation as well as resources for the incubation of the Collective Impact Program. In addition, we embarked on an exciting partnership with Griffith Foods. Their support led us through a co-creating journey for the UNFSS Independent Dialogues and the SGM Summit.

In addition to our financial partnerships, we have formed alliances with remarkable organizations that have furthered the impact of this Movement. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and the possibilities for growth alongside these purpose-driven alliances.
