ANNUAL REPORT 2021
CONNECTION | SG MAP
Mapping the ecosystem of food & social innovation.

The SGM Map is a tool intended to catalyze the social impact of people and organizations working with the power of food to co-create social change. More than 150 organizations are georeferenced, connected, swapping skills, and sharing best practices.
The SGM Map is a tool used by organizations, potential funders, media, and fellow practitioners to discover projects related to social gastronomy. The Map categorizes Social Gastronomy Organizations and their representatives by focus area, Sustainable Development Goal targeted, and individual expertise. Suppose external stakeholders or other members seek a specific skill set or advice to overcome challenges. In that case, they can quickly sort through the network and connect with someone working in a similar field.

Since the Map's launch in late 2020, there have been 750 connections made, indicating that those stakeholders are establishing new working relationships and potential collaborations.

Public Map
The public-facing map allows for potential members, funders, and alliances to view the ecosystem of those practicing social gastronomy around the world and discover those working toward all 17 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, sector, and impact areas.
Network Map
The network map serves as a digital netweaving tool and aims at gathering data to understand the relationships between the member organizations. It is an exclusive benefit for SGM members.
